Montgomery County, Texas — Raven is the prime environmental consultant for a 5,600-acre
property. Since 2000, Raven services and products have included:
- Endangered Species Habitat Conservation Plan and Safe Harbor with baseline population,
including habitat enhancement and annual population monitoring, banding, and translocations.
- Natural Resource Management Plan including ecological restoration, select timber harvest
schedules, and a long-term prescribed burning planning and implementation - all with GIS support.
- Significant cost-share grant funding from state and federal sources in support of ecological restoration.
- Restricted-Use and Open-Space Tax Abatement Plan capturing significant annual savings.
- Native Grass restoration on 250-acres of improved pastureland.
- Sustainable white-tailed deer management program including annual census counts,
data collection, analysis, and annual harvest recommendations.
Waller County, Texas — Raven is the prime environmental consultant for a 530-acre property.
Since 2001, Raven services and products provided have included a Post Oak Savannah Ecosystem Restoration
Plan with GIS support and cost-share funding, and also extensive midstory control utilizing prescribed
fire and mechanical mulching.
Bastrop County, Texas — Raven has conducted a fixed-radius plot, point-sample timber
inventory on two properties to establish land-use baseline information for Restricted Use and Open
Space Tax Plans.
National Forsets and Grasslands of Texas — Raven has managed and produced more than
thirty NEPA compliance documents for projects occuring on all four National Forests in Texas.
National Forests, Louisiana — Raven has executed endangered species habitat improvements
and management contracts on the Kisatchie and Vernon Districts.
Fort Polk Military Installation, Louisiana — Raven has collected more than 2,000
high-precision location coordinates at Fort Polk, and managed the spatial data to client specifications
while producing more than 300 quality, color maps. Raven continues to conduct scientific research
involving several endangered or rare species and is conducting ongoing botanical research on forty
permenant vegetation sampling plots.
Ozark National Forest, Arkansas — Raven has provided NEPA compliance services for extensive
seismic exploration activities on the Ozark National Forest.
Big Thicket National Preserve, Texas — Raven has conducted extensive botanical surveys for
endangered plant species and produced the appropriate NEPA compliance documents for seismic exploration
projects.
Texas and Louisiana — Raven has provided the research support, inventories, and assessments
necessary to write endangered species Habitat Conservation Plans in both Texas and Louisiana for large
industrial forest landowners. These projects also involved extensive GIS, GPS, and mapping support.
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Statewide — Raven established and sampled permenant
vegetation monitoring plots and also conducted plant inventories within previously established plots
at twelve Texas State Parks located in five ecoregions.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Texas — Raven has conducted bald eagle nesting surveys and
also provided boundary maintenance and monumentation services on several lakes in Texas.
